Bucharest win for Akor-Eurocontsruct

The Greek-Romanian joint venture Aktor-Euroconstruct Trading 98 has won lot 3 of the Bucharest south ring road.
The contract €173.76 million (US$204.37 million) contract was awarded by the Romanian National Company for Road Infrastructure Management, CNAIR, and is financed through the European Union's Cohesion Fund as well as the Romanian government.
CNAIR also reported that a winner for construction of the motorway section between Buzau and Ploiesti will be announced near the end of the month, with the deal to be signed by the end of November.
CNAIR said 39 companies submitted bids for the 63km-long project which will have 42 passages and bridges, as well as four services areas with electric vehicle charging stations. Among joint venture companies submitting bids are Constructii Erbasu-Bertoni Construct-Acvatot and Tancrad-Bog'Art-Cosedil.
This summer, construction of the final 16km segment of the Bacău’s 30km orbital highway was finished. The almost €136 million (US$161.3 million) orbital, of which around half is motorway grade, includes seven bridges, a junction and nine passages. Bacău, with a population of around 200,000, is 300km north of Romania’s capital city Bucharest.
