OHLA is moving forward in its commitment to sustainable infrastructures with its participation in the design, construction and commissioning of three photovoltaic plants in Medina de las Torres, Badajoz (Spain): Los Llanos I, II and III. With installed capacity of 50 MW each, they will generate more than 300,000 MWh/year of 100% clean energy, for almost 92,000 homes. The project, owned by X-ELIO, an international company specializing in the development, operation and maintenance of photovoltaic solar energy projects, has been assigned a procurement budget of more than 45 million euros.
The project’s development also involves OHLA’s social and environmental commitment, through its participation in local and regional initiatives in education, health and environmental matters in the surroundings where this initiative will be launched. Specifically, the company has undertaken to develop and stimulate the surroundings where the plants are located, by generating more than 300 jobs in the region, seeking to fight against rural depopulation.
