Bouygues company starts building €222m Crows Nest Station on Sydney Metro

The Australian subsidiary of Bouygues Bâtiment International, A W Edwards, has started work on Sydney Metro’s new Crows Nest Station, after being awarded the contract in October 2020.
The contract is worth some €222m (A$370m).Sydney Metro is Australia’s biggest public transport project. By 2024, Sydney will have 31 metro stations and a 66-km standalone metro railway system.Crows Nest Station will be the first stop on the Sydney Metro City & Southwest extension running from Chatswood to Bankstown via Sydney city centre.
A W Edwards’ contract sees it building the station structure (220m long, 25m wide and 25m deep) and public space and amenities around Pacific Highway and Hume Street. More than 300 people will be involved at peak periods on the project, which is scheduled for completion in 2023.
Sydney-based A W Edwards was founded in 1921.
