MTCC to redevelop Addu Regional Port

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed a contract with Maldives Ports Limited for redevelopment of the Addu Regional Port.
Scope of works for the project will include:
dredging operations – 972,500cbm;
reclamation operations – 8.05 hectares;
a 2360m breakwater construction;
a 500m revetment;
installation of 25,900sqm harbor pavement and harbor lights.
The value of the contract is MVR 211.771 million ($13.7 million).
According to MTCC, the project is scheduled to be completed within 525 days.
