Wabag to build water treatment & desalination plants in Tunisia and Libya

, an Indian multinational company focused on water treatment for municipal and industrial users, is set to construct water treatment and seawater desalination plants in Tunisia and Libya respectively.
These projects are a part of multiple orders worth over US$ 121m that the Chennai-headquartered company recently secured in Switzerland, Tunisia, and Libya.
The water treatment plant project in Tunisia
As per the order from Tunisia, the company in consortium with local civil partners will design and build a 30 MLD water treatment plant at Kasseb Dam, which is supplied by Kasseb River in Jendouba, North-Western region of the North African country.
The project scope includes design, engineering, construction, supply, installation, and commissioning of the facility using advanced Lamella clarifier technology. It will be executed within a period of 20 months, after which the company will operate & maintain the water treatment plant for a period of six months before handing it over to
SONEDE is a Tunisian public law company of a non-administrative nature that ensures the supply of drinking water throughout the Tunisian territory.
The seawater desalination plant project in Libya
Regarding the order from Libya, VA Tech Wabag will design and build three thermal seawater in the Gulf of Bomba, a body of water in the Mediterranean Sea on the northern coast of the North African country.
The scope of this project includes the design, supply, construction, installation, commissioning, and training of the facilities’ operating personnel. As part of the contract, the Indian multinational company will also supply spare parts for a period of 24 months.
This a repeat contract with the General Desalination Company of Libya, and the largest thermal desalination plant order in the history of WABAG.
