Streit Group breaks ground on Phase 3 of facility in RAKEZ

Scope of work on Phase 3 of the project covers the construction of six additional buildings
In a virtual ceremony, privately-owned armoured vehicle manufacturer - STREIT Group, announced the launch of Phase 3 of its ongoing expansion project.
Scope of work on phase 3 of the project will see the construction of six additional buildings, increasing the existing 86,000m2 by 65,000m2.
The phase also covers a 18,000m2 body fabrication facility; a 19,500m2 chassis parking; a 15,000m2 building to host R&D and a showroom and training academy; a 7,800m2 vehicle-based production facility; a 7,300m2 finished product storage area; a 8,200m2 robotic steel fabrication and laser cutting facility; and a 8,000m2 rolling chassis production line, manufacturing utility and commercial based vehicles
Commenting on STREIT Group's expansion plans, chairman, Guerman Goutorov said: “Our expansion aims to meet the ever-increasing demand for our products and services. We expect project completion within the last quarter of 2021."
At present, STREIT Group has12 production facilities and 25 offices worldwide and operates from Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ). The company produces armored personnel carriers, cash-in-transit, luxury and security vehicles which are designed to provide effective protection in high-risk situations.
